Mark A. Runacres is a Cambridge graduate. He is currently on sabbatical from the British Diplomatic Service after 25 years of service. This took him to India, France and the U.S and gave him experience in international trade and investment, international security, development, political analysis, strategy and policy formulation, and over a decade working on Indian affairs, most recently as Minister and Deputy High Commissioner from 2002 to 2006.

He is the India Adviser to the Conferderation of British Industry and runs the British Business Group in Delhi. He holds several executive roles in business, including as Promoter and Director of Sheffield Haworth India and adviser to JMD and Avian Media. Mark also holds independent directorshilps with G4S Corporate Services (India), Religare Capital Markets and Elara Capital (India). He is active in civil society with directorships in the Business and Community Foundation and Action for a Global Climate Community.
