Financial aid for medical education

Narayana Hrudayalaya Charitable Trust and and Mindtree Foundation, the corporate social respon­sibility arm of Mindtree, on Friday launched 'Udaan', a scholarship program dedi­cated towards supporting the medical education of deserving underprivileged students.

Udaan will provide chil­dren from rural areas with scholarships and end-to-end financial support, right from their ninth standard till they complete their MBBS. Post the nine years of education, Udaan will mentor them to become certified doctors.

Dr Devi Shetty, Founder and Managing Trustee Narayana Hrudayalaya Charitable Trust and Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Mindtree formally launched the programme. As many as 56 children have been shortlisted for the scholarship.
