Our visual identity is a differentiator in and of itself. Unlike most corporate brand identities, ours was designed by a differently-abled child rather than a graphic designer.
Chetan K.S., a student of the school run by the Spastics Society of Karnataka, India, suffers from motor and speech disabilities associated with cerebral palsy. Like most persons afflicted with this disability, Chetan’s fine mind is trapped in a disobedient body. He was one of ten such students who listened to us as we explained our vision, our mission, and our value system. Each child then submitted an original work of art that represented the ideas that we wanted to convey; we chose Chetan’s masterful work as our visual identity.
Chetan’s creation was presented to the world on August 18, 1999 in the form of our logo. The blue, red and bright yellow MindTree logo stands for the individual elements of our corporate DNA: Imagination, Action, and Joy. The decisive skyward, blue brush stroke communicates imagination. The red stands for action. The bright yellow bubbles represent joy.
