How do we increase participation in communities? A good number of people join us from college campuses and a bigger number are lateral hires. This is a challenge, but also a great opportunity for us. I like to picture ourselves running up an escalator that is actually going down. While we spend sizeable effort to just keep the energy levels up in communities, we learn newer ways of engaging our new hires. One of the best outcomes that individuals have reaped being in communities, is of improved confidence at work and outside. Building confidence is never the stated charter though. We know of many examples at MindTree where people learnt to speak confidently in public, organize large events and present ideas in a coherent and composed way to our customers or internally. This is invaluable to our business. We would like to bring WIIFM here and tell our people the same. I present two cartoons that we used in a span of two months to communicate the message.
Hope you like them.

Dear Sir,
I really enjoyed WIIFM. Thank you!
Both the cartoons are just great. My sincere appreciation to the creator.
And it is amply clear that the 4E’s mentioned here: Enroll, Engage, Energize, Enrich empower the professionals with the two very vital E’s : the ‘Edge’ to ‘Execute’ to perfection with Passion.
Thanks and regards,
Geetha

Dear Geetha,
Thanks for your comment.
I love your observation on empowering to create the “edge to execute”. So apt.
Please keep your comments coming.
