"I'm writing to recommend MindTree as an excellent outsourcing partner for software development. Last fiscal year, I contracted with them to do exploratory development, build prototypes and produce examples to showcase new Microsoft product technologies, supporting my projects as Sr. Director for the Platform Architecture Team of Developer and Platform Evangelism. I chose them over other contractors because they came very highly recommended by one of my colleagues, and because of their competitive rates. The contract ran the entire year with billing in equal increments. The management team was a pleasure to work with, always cordial and gracious. Contract set up and tear down was smooth and handled professionally. The local lead here in Redmond and the overall Microsoft practice lead both checked in with me frequently to make sure all was going well. The management team was also quite flexible, willing to change resource levels in either direction on short notice, as additional funding and resources were added for new projects, and other projects were shut down due to changes here at Microsoft. The development team, however, is the part of the engagement that really shined. They excelled at managing their end of every project on which they worked, providing prompt, accurate, detailed and regular status reports in writing, and working through requirements effectively and efficiently in conference calls. More importantly, they excelled at learning new technologies, as we asked them to work with very early bits in the Azure Services Platform, Silverlight, ASP.NET MVC and other new technologies. In every case, they came up to speed and became proficient very quickly. Part of the reason for their rapid ramp up was their broad and deep knowledge of existing Microsoft technologies, including C# and the .NET framework, Visual Studio Team System, Visual Studio Extensibility, IIS, SQL Server and other staples of the stack. The development team was also fast, producing a significant numbers of lines of code per person per day, while creating deliverables of impeccable quality. We never had quality issues. All of the code they delivered was free of observable defects on every drop. The team was also extremely responsive, handling changes in requirements quickly and competently. What I appreciated most, however, is that they always went the extra mile to make sure my team here in Redmond had everything we needed to demo or build on the work they had done.
