The core of MindTree's Enterprise Integration Framework is the Enterprise Business Adapter (EBA). EBA allows members of integration teams to develop rapid integration scenarios, connecting SAP with disparate sets of application systems and technology solutions across the extended enterprise.

Designed on a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) base, EBA provides out-of-the-box connectivity to SAP processes in the form of services and events. Adapter services can easily be assembled into the integration application, and invoked from any application platform using multiple protocols like J2EE, XML, TCP/IP, HTTP, and SOAP.

EBA is fully J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA) compliant, providing support for container-based connection, transaction and security management. It can be deployed on any managed J2EE application server environment; and a special release of the platform, compatible with non-managed java environments, is also available. EBA's JCA based architecture allows the platform to be portable, interoperable, secure, and very scalable for enterprise needs. It allows connectivity with all SAP/mySAP business applications including SAP R/3, 3.1H to 4.70, R/3 Enterprise, and Web Application Server rel. 6.10 and 6.20. EBA also allows connectivity with SAP via multiple SAP services and APIs.

Key Features
Key features of the Enterprise Integration Framework include:
  • J2EE-based application model, with J2EE application servers used as integration servers. This results in significant cost savings, as J2EE application servers are much more economical than proprietary integration server products. As an option, a J2EE application server comes bundled with Enterprise Integration Framework at no additional cost.
  • Standard connectivity with SAP via the JCA (J2EE connector architecture)-compliant Enterprise Business Adapter product component. JCA is the specification developed and approved by the Java Community (comprising of SUN, Oracle, BEA, and IBM) for standards-based integration of Enterprise Information Systems. High levels of portability, interoperability and scalability. The open protocols based implementation enables the Enterprise Integration Framework platform to be deployed and ported on to any J2EE compatible platform. Its Web services oriented architecture allows seamless integration with applications on any technology platform.
  • Includes toolkit-based product components to build custom integration applications specific to SAP enterprises, with minimum programming effort.
  • Complete XML-based API layer available to invoke adapter services within SAP.
