MindTree’s telecom network is an end-to-end managed solution featuring local loop, national leg, international leg, switching and multiplexing, and US PoP and PSTN termination or aggregation services. Voice traffic rides over our provider’s high capacity, diverse, and managed TDM backbone. Capacity increase is simple, as there is no compression equipment used; TDM quality calls are transported uncompressed all the way to our support center. No routers or cable modems are used either, as they usually constitute single points of failure.
MindTree can provide toll-free/DID numbers in the United States, and select other countries. From the MindTree support center, outbound calls can be made to 132 different countries. These calls are transported to our PoP in Los Angeles, before switching over to PSTN networks to reach the destination country.
Within the country, MindTree’s voice traffic is carried by our provider’s highly redundant domestic backbone. Complete redundancy and management of overflow is achieved by redirecting traffic to the carrier’s international switches at Mumbai or Chennai.
Increasing reliability through redundancy, our carrier’s international infrastructure comes with the following advantages:
- Submarine cable and carrier-level redundancy
- Atlantic and Pacific path-level redundancy
- Bandwidth capacity on 5 out of 6 cables coming into India
With a geographically redundant backbone, and multiple PoPs with N+1 equipment redundancy, there is no ‘single point of failure’. Fibre-based ‘Last Mile’ also means complete control over the end-to-end solution. The MPLS network has ‘Cisco Powered Network’ certification, and the data centre has ‘SunTone’ and ‘BS-7799’ certification, underlining its reliability.
