P-CMM Level 5
MindTree Consulting, an international IT services company, today announced that it has been assessed at Level 5 for the Capability Maturity Model - IntegrationSM (CMMiSM). With this achievement, MindTree has become the youngest company in the world to reach level 5 in the two most valuable CMM frameworks - CMMi and P-CMMSM - before its fifth-year anniversary.
In achieving CMMi Level 5, MindTree has taken a significant leap from CMM Level 3, for which it was assessed in May 2002. This makes MindTree one of the youngest companies in the world to reach the highest level of maturity in the CMMi framework. The assessment was carried out by KPMG.
“Adoption of CMMi has enhanced our capability on project management, engineering discipline and metrics-based decision making, control and improvements, among other areas,” said Vishweshwar Hegde, head of the quality function at MindTree.
Software Engineering Institute (SEI)-authorized lead assessor K.K. Raman from KPMG said, ”MindTree has implemented the model requirements in a unique business-backward approach.”
“While driving continuous improvement using CMMi, we have observed significant improvements in customer satisfaction and project profitability. This further enhances our ability to offer higher levels of services and value to our customers worldwide,” said Ashok Soota, Chairman and Managing Director of MindTree. “MindTree’s P-CMM Level 5 and CMMi Level 5 achievements are parts of our larger organizational strategy which includes building a formidable knowledge management process and Six Sigma practice.”
