Mr. Blackwill inaugurates state-of-the-art learning center at the MindTree campus in Bangalore
MindTree Consulting, a leading international IT services company, today announced the visit of the U.S. ambassador to India, Robert Blackwill, to its campus in Bangalore. Mr. Blackwill inaugurated MindTree’s learning center, a new state-of-the art facility built to support the Company’s future training needs. The U.S. Ambassador envoy later participated in a demonstration of some of the cutting-edge technologies that have been developed by MindTree.
Christened MindSet and MindShare, the two auditoriums, along with the library and a vast e-learning facility, constitute the learning center at MindTree. They are equipped with the most advanced learning tools, aiding all kinds of learning mechanisms, such as computer-based training, e-learning, audio/video, mentoring and self-study. While inaugurating the learning center, U.S. Ambassador Blackwill remarked that the center compared with the best he has seen in U.S. universities. The new learning center is expected to facilitate more than 10,000 learning days during 2003-04, imparting knowledge on various technologies and soft skills. With the objective of building a self-sustaining learning system, MindTree has made learning one of its five core values. MindTree strongly believes that continual learning is the path to overall growth. MindTree’s Culture and Competence Team oversees the company’s learning initiative.
For Ambassador Blackwill, MindTree engineers from its product realization business demonstrated a few products that have been developed by MindTree and licensed to some of the leading global product-manufacturing companies. The products that were demonstrated included a wireless Bluetooth headset that has MindTree’s Bluetooth stack embedded in it, allowing users to receive calls on their headset without operating their handset; a software intellectual property, which enables a mobile device, such as a personal digital assistant, to act as an Internet phone; and a Silicon Intellectual Property (Si IP), which forms the core technology of the Bluetooth protocol analyzers.
