Technical Paper Contest

The most prestigious contest of Osmosis 2006 is the Technical Paper Contest. We would like to invite technical papers from MindTree Minds. All MindTree Minds irrespective of location can participate in this contest. A panel of senior and distinguished experts will evaluate the papers. Selected papers will be presented at Osmosis 2006 - Osmosis Day.

Pattern Contest

Pattern Contest is a new contest added to Osmosis 2006. In software engineering, a design pattern is a general repeatable solution to a commonly-occurring problem in software design.

A design pattern isn't a finished design that can be transformed directly into code; it is a description or template for how to solve a problem that can be used in many different situations.

Object-oriented design patterns typically show relationships and interactions between classes or objects, without specifying the final application classes or objects that are involved. Algorithms are not thought of as design patterns, since they solve computational problems rather than design problems.

TechWorks Contest

Another important contest of the Osmosis 2006 is the TechWorks Contest.

If you have a project idea which can increase productivity, reduce defects or offers reuse, an idea which could be MindTree's next MIST or MINT and you are able to develop and demonstrate it by Nov. 30th, then participate in the TechWorks Contest.

We would like to invite project abstracts from MindTree Minds. All MindTree Minds irrespective of location can participate in this contest. All the abstracts submitted can be executed as projects by the abstract submitters and projects which are physically/technically demonstrable will be selected for demo/display on Osmosis Day.

Quiz Contest

Osmosis is an event where all of us can reflect on different aspects of technology and learn from each other. As part of this TechFest, we will be conducting weekly quizzes, with prizes given to winners. The way this will happen is as follows:
  • Every Tuesday, at 2 p.m. a different community will come to you with a list of 7 multiple choice questions with 24 hours to respond (i.e. till Wednesday 2 p.m. - IST).
  • There will be 5 winners for each quiz, based on total number of right answers. If more than 5 MindTree Minds qualify as winners, then 5 winners will be picked randomly.
  • Winners of the Quiz will be announced through an e-mail to MindTree World and published on the Osmosis site, along with the correct answers.
  • Prizes for the winners will be made available with the Community Champions and winners may collect their prizes from them.
  • For winners in other locations outside of Bangalore, we will arrange to have the prize sent out to them.
