MindTree Consulting, an international IT services company, today announced that it has been rated as one of the “Best Employers in India for 2003” by Hewitt Associates. In a countrywide study conducted by Hewitt Associates, MindTree is ranked 11th overall and third in the IT industry. In addition, Hewitt Associates recognized MindTree for having the “most admired senior management team in the country” based on the highest points received in a part of the survey that relates to senior leadership.
Reacting to the award, MindTree Consulting Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Soota comments, ”We are indeed delighted to be recognized as one of the best employers in India. It further strengthens our belief that people development through a common-values system is key to the success of MindTree.”
The Best Employers in India 2003 study attracted 220 participants, which is the highest number representing a single geography in the world. The study was conducted in four stages:
1. Survey of random samples of employees was conducted to assess their respective levels of engagement within their organization
2. Gather information about philosophies, policies, programs and practices influencing the management of people in the organizations.
3. CEO surveys to collect information about his/her philosophies and approach to managing people
4. Onsite evaluation
Some of the parameters that helped the judges select the final rankings were: viewing talent management as an important investment; building a high-performance work environment; articulating the elements of an organization’s culture; using rewards as a differentiating tool; and driving leadership throughout an organization.
MindTree Consulting General Manager Global People Function, Prasad TGC says, “The recognition of being one of the best employers in the country is special to us, as it follows MindTree becoming the world’s youngest company to be assessed at P-CMM Level 5 globally. The two achievements are true endorsement of the “high-performance, high-caring” culture that we are building at MindTree.
