Incremental Approach Implementation

Incremental Approach Implementation

MindTree understands the typical problems with budget, buy-in, timelines, and untested returns on investment from SOA: especially in the context of the small-to-medium business (SMB). We used this knowledge, combined with our extensive SOA implementation experience, to develop a separate methodology for incremental SOA deployment.

Incremental SOA Adoption: Our Approach

MindTree takes a four-step approach to incremental SOA implementation. Our team works closely with you to:

  • Check if there is an acceptable case for SOA adoption (without creating one)
  • Define the architectural goals and scope of deployment, limited to discovery, build, and deployment of services only
  • Check the technology choice, and consider open technologies like .Net or Java
  • Plan for implementation of the services and applications

Defining the scope of SOA adoption can help you choose the right model. The basic SOA model targets adoption only as a technological architecture paradigm and does not consider alignment with the enterprise architecture framework – if one exists. Simply put, this model addresses the process of discovery, build, and deployment of services with minimal support on governance. MindTree’s progressive SOA deployment methodology ensures that you can start with one model and move to a higher, better one over a period of time, based on requirement. This effectively addresses the typical issues faced by SMBs in adopting SOA.
