Mindtree sinking deep roots in Gainesville

Since Mindtree opened its Gainesville center in 2012, it has helped recruit two other software companies here, lured by the available talent and low cost of doing business. Mobiquity promised 260 jobs when it opened here in 2013 and USR Systems — which like Mindtree has a presence in India and New Jersey — announcing in December that it planned to hire 140 people over three years.

“That's all part of the Gainesville strategy to build that tech community,” Staples said. “I've always told you and other folks in Gainesville that tech companies like to cohabitate with other tech companies because that's how we learn and network.”
