Guiding principles and dimensions of testing transformation

31 October, 2013 Thursday

Did you know that almost 30% of your testing investments can be saved by correctly defining and executing your testing transformation initiative?

Join us to get practical tips and takeaways on defining the correct scope of testing transformation and creating an achievable roadmap .

Traditionally, testing transformation approaches have missed the following:

  • Ensuring that the CIO portfolio is aligned to the business
  • Validating that what is being tested is the goal – testing to requirements, not specifications
  • Ensuring that other process stakeholders are working towards the same goal
  • Emphasizing zero defects at levels of a project life cycle

testing transformation

Through this definition, we focus on quality, its drivers and the methods that help us achieve quality. Inherently, that precludes subjective interpretations of low or high quality.

The right testing transformation assessment model should include the following dimensions by logical units of the organization to create the right transformation roadmap:

  • Maturity of quality assurance
  • Integration
  • Complexity
  • Impact

Starting with a right top down view ensures that the variables of change are clearly understood and implementations follow in a systematic, organized and quantifiable manner. The model includes performance testing, automation, process changes, continuous improvement, tools & technologies as well as defect management & maturity evolution.
