Executive Summary

A leading global interactive entertainment software company was facing issues related to design, development and maintenance of its Oracle applications. Mindtree helped the client gain better understanding and developed support for business critical processes by leveraging the Oracle Application Management Suite (AMS), resulting in overall reduction in maintenance costs and rapid resolution of issues in business critical systems.

About the client

The client is a leading global interactive entertainment software company, delivering games, content and online services for internet connected consoles, personal computers, mobile phones and tablets. The company’s game development studios, publishing offices and sales offices are located across the globe.

The Challenge

The client was looking for ways to improve its current Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12 environment by enabling middleware integration of external systems with the existing system, along with necessary enhancements. The client however, lacked the flexibility to effectively design, develop and maintain the application (O2C, P2P, reporting/consolidations) due to lack of relevant in house capabilities. Other issues such as high cost of support and maintenance, and delayed identification and resolution of issues related to business critical processes, further compounded the challenges.

Our solution

After conducting a deep-dive assessment of the challenges pertaining to application design, maintenance and development, Mindtree focused on developing a solution for enhancing and seamlessly maintaining the Oracle EBS system. First, the Mindtree team validated the existing documentation and mapped them to ensure a perfect match with the predefined system configuration. Next, we leveraged agile management of Change Requests (CR), to reduce development and delivery timelines for high quality deliverables. Our team also provided flexible extended managed services support during critical time periods, such as end of month.

Results

Mindtree’s proactive approach to providing complete support for enhancement and maintenance of Oracle EBS systems helped the client lower its overall support and maintenance costs. The solution enables a centralized engine for the deferral of the company’s global revenues and provides a detailed view of revenue allocation within compilation arrangements and their associated online components. In addition, proactive monitoring ensures rapid resolution of issues in business critical processes, resulting in minimal disruption to the system
